# Taxes & invoices

> How taxes appear on your orders, and how to find printable invoices for your purchases and subscriptions.

## Taxes

Depending on your location and the item, applicable **taxes** may be added at checkout. Any tax is shown as a separate line in your order total **before** you pay, so there are no surprises.

## Invoices

Every paid order and subscription renewal generates an **invoice** you can open or print. Each invoice itemizes what you paid for, including any tax lines — handy for expense reports and accounting.

    Go to your dashboard and open Transactions (or your subscription details).

  <Step title="Pick a paid order">
    Select the order you need a record for.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the invoice">
    Open or print the invoice for that order.

<Note>
  Invoices are available for **paid** orders. An order that's still pending payment won't have a final invoice until the payment is confirmed. See [Purchases & downloads](/marketplace/purchases-and-downloads).
