# Become an author

> Start selling on the AIClips Marketplace — apply, agree to the author terms, and complete identity (KYC) verification.

Anyone can turn their creative work into income on the Marketplace. Becoming an author is a quick, one-time setup.

  <Step title="Apply to become an author">
    From your dashboard, open **Become an Author** and submit the application. You'll review and accept the **author terms** (and referral terms, if you plan to refer others).

  <Step title="Verify your identity (KYC)">
    Before you can publish items, you'll complete **KYC verification** — a standard identity check. Choose a document type (such as a national ID or passport) and upload it. This keeps the Marketplace trustworthy and enables payouts.

  <Step title="Get approved">
    Once your application and verification are reviewed and approved, your author workspace unlocks and you can start uploading.
